I have a cold molded constant camber John Marples designed puffin rowing/sailing dinghy I built. I am interested in building a light weight simple removable sliding seat. I want it removable because I like sitting in the bottom while sailing.

Since the surface of the bottom is smooth, I have thought of using a seat with three roller blade wheels on the bottom that just rolls along the bottom. Another idea I had was to just make a hardwood track that velcros onto the bottom. I am thinking of using a thermorest seat cushion for a cozy bum.

Anyone know of any designs I can look at on line? Thanks.

Somewhere in Norm Messingers boat show albums on Imagestation is a beautiful Guide boat with a elegantly simple sliding seat design that shouldnt need plans. A wicker seat on 2 bows that slide on rails attatched to the ribs. I built a seat with a roller skate truck but I'm scrapping it for this one. Email Norm, he may know where it is exactly. I row , paddle and sail a Macgreggor.
