Here is a tool I made from a slap hammer and a pair of vise grips. I welded a nut onto the end of the ajustment screw on the vise grips, to match the threads on the slap hammer. When I need to pull some pins, or a snapped off screw or nail, I grip on, and a few taps does the trick. It works great. Another invention of the aviation industry.

All right, what did I do wrong? I follwed the instructions to the "T", and I get the dreaded red X.

Here is the link.

Bob,

I think you put in the link to the page rather than the link to the picture. To get the link to the picture go to the imagestation page and right click on the picture. Select properties to see the link and then copy and paste that link. If I'm right you should see the picture below:

I give up! It must be a secret society that I am not privy to.

This is the same technique that I use to pull keelbolts, only much bigger and I don't use vice-grips, just a couple of nuts welded together. I can use either a five or ten pound slide, depending on the resistance.

Yes, it IS a nifty tool! Nice job!

Oldtimers in San Francisco would call that a 'baby' Portagee Pump.
Try one with about a 50 lb. slide weight, two handles for two men and down in the bilge of some old tug pulling 1 inch diameter drifts.
Gosh that got old really fast..
