The listing is a bit misleading. It was the second Carina Rhodes designed for Nye, the 55 foot yawl, that was his favorite design, not this one.

Carina sailed out of Northport Long Island in the early 70's . She was named "Experiment" at that time and was owned by Bill and Shirley Dunwooodie who took it to the Bahamas for two years with their young son. Bill later sold the boat to a Northport resident who returned it to the Bahamas and later sold it in there. Here's a photo taken in the early 70's. Bill is on the right and I'm on the left in this photo.

It's a shame this boat is in such poor condition. She was a real beauty to see and to sail.

What did they do?
Her decking been stripped away by salvagers or scavengers for Teak wood..
But for a buck for the basic hull that may have life left in it.. It can be restored back into a seaworthy vessel..
I don't have no use for it here... Can't launch a full keeled boats..
