I have just built a new table for an L shaped setee in the salon of my trawler. I now need some type of supporting hardware for fold down leafs as well as a telescoping pedestal which would allow the table/setee to be converted into a bunk by lowering the table. I have found pedestals that would work at local chandleries, but not of a quality I'd like. By chance does anyone know a source of quality hardware of this sort?
Much thanks!!

Try scandvik.com. Scandvik has a pretty good selection of manual, hydraulic and, for the boater who has everything, electrically operated pedestals. I'd be very interested in what you currently have and what you end up buying for hardware as I'm having a boat built right now that will have an L shaped seat that will also have a table that I'd like to be able to lower to create a double berth. I'm planning on two manually operated pedestals of some kind. Scandvik has one that extends below the floor about 5 inches that I'm considering. The table itself will have one end of it hinged to lower. I think I've come up with a system to support the leaf: Two retractable pieces of wood that, when the leaf is raised, can slide under the leaf and support it. Retract them under the rest of the table and lower the leaf - sounds good in theory. Do you have any pics that you can send me of your current set up, and the new table? Good luck.
