So I am finally feeling guilty of not posting pics and since I did some nice work today on the kayak....
My sng CLC Mill Creek 13:
A bit of epoxy on the completed deck and coaming this afternoon

The breasthook type thing i put in the front of the coaming, i rather like how this turned out.

My other build is a Sam Rabl designed dory from the pages of popular mechanics back when...
the building jig with stem, transom, chine logs and floor frames, a bit blurry sorry:

the bottom going on, half way done:

I now have the whole bottom on the dory and the bottom planks are beveled to take the first strake. I will be using 1/2" white pine clinkers clench-nailed over the white oaks frames, stem and chine log. transom is cypress. the rest of the interior i will likely finish out in white oak as i can buy nice quality white oak locally grown and milled very inexpensively here.
The kayak should be floating in early may, the dory by fall. Next up will be a strip plank lobsterboat styled boat for cruising my home lake. Lets see at that point i will have 6 boats, maybe my wife won;t get too mad at me if i name the cruiser after her....
Cheers,
jerry
PS: for those who have been reading the transom lettering thread here is a pic of my big boat, paint or vinyl??
