Ahoy,

...Barrett is launching her Tad Roberts designed motor launch.

Well, in that case I guess I will forgive her for not updating her site for the past 10 days. ;)

Darn, I wish I could come up there for this. Something tells me I have a lot of dripping paint in my near future here at home.

Alex hasen't been back because he's involved in an intense lofting project. It's the Cockle thing......

Anyway, Saturday dawned with 6" of snow on most of the island, also all power was out. But a fair number of folks managed to get down to the Bay for the launch in early afternoon.

The crowd...

The Coquina went first, the tide was way out of course....

Then the Tamie Norrie went in, Pete is pleased with his work...

So they went sailing...the Coquina first of course...

And then the Tamie Norrie crew gave it a try....

Out of space.....

A few other boats came and were launched at the Festival. A brand new (#5) Barefoot Pogy came out to play...

And Barrett's new motor launch got a trial....

A great day for small boats and new Boatbuilders......

Terrific! The smiles on the builders and crew pretty much says it all. Well done Barrett!

I can hardly wait to get in the water...

Hey Tad, do you happen to know who made the sails for these two boats?

Hi Don,

The sails for the Tammie Norrie were built by Kingston Sails in Kingston, Ontario. And the Coquina sails were done by Quantum in North Vancouver.

Thanks Tad. Just trying to keep tabs on who is making nice sails for traditional boats. I get inquiries from time to time and like to keep my files updated. Now that you mention it, the logo on the Coquina’s sails fairly jumps out of the monitor. I couldn’t make it out before. Quantum made a sprit main and jib for one of my Cottage Skiffs and it turned out pretty nice.

The boats look great! The students can rightfully be proud of their accomplishments. I love Barrett’s tender. Congratulations to her for a job well done and kudos to the designer for inking such an admirable craft!

I had to make a second pot of French pressed bean broth for that one. Thanks...

Thanks all for the kind words. I am pretty happy with Sophie, too!

Alex, I'm blushing. You now have to blog the Cockle's build so I can reciprocate the lurking and plugging of your project!
