    Dell has reduced me to a. . . . .

    cussing babbling raging animal creature.

I ordered a new keyboard for my insprion 1150 on march 28th. They shipped it on march 29th. 2 days later it arrived as promised--at the wrong adddress. At the time I gave them my CC# I gave them the correct address. At some point it got tied to an old express service code which rerouted it to my ex-wife--who was the original purchaser of the computer.

I could see this happening by using the tracking number. I called to warn them this was happening. They assured me it not happening.

I followed it, stop by stop on the DHL website to the wrong location.

The next day, the day I was supposed to recieve the keyboard, It's sitting in a DHL facility in NH. There is no way for Dell to tell DHL to send it to my address in WI.

It will sit there for 14 days then be returned to Dell.

Dell has sent out a replacement part, but that will take 8 business days instead of the 2 business days for the original part purchase. Why, no one can explain. That's just the way it is.

And yes, that's a DHL plane in my avitar, I've probably been a participant in this.

Tell Dell to cancel the order. Then go down to the nearest Staples and buy any keyboard. They're completely interchangeable items. You don't need to wait for Dell.

Is that true for a laptop? if so many thanks and I can't wait to write "go F- yourself" all over the box and send it back when I get it.

well, if your laptop has a USB port, you should be able to plug any USB keyboard in to it as well as any input device.

I thought Id start all over. First I changed the owner of the comuter from my ex to myself. Then, I ordered a rebuilt keyboard that fits this notebook.

5 minutes after concluding this new order, I get an email from my ex. Dell was letting her know the keyboard is on the way.

          The system is comletely broken.

All this because I want to carry around a notebook comter when I travel, not a notebook and a keyboard.

I feel your pain. Dell Powervault server self destructed Tuesday at work... we pay for 4 hour service- they will be on site in 4 hours with the correct parts... uh huh... sure...

Hence the "drink beer" and "drink more beer" in the Weekend Doin's thread. Add Department of Homeland Security holding emergency transmitter parts hostage...

What did I expect- it is all part of the same military industrial complex...

Oops- beginning to sound like Tylerdurden.

Sorry for the momentary thread drift. I'll go back to my beer now.

We I can declair this friggĂn nightmare finally over. A couple of days ago two keyboards showed at the house: a laptop keyboard and a desktop keyboard.

I installed the correct one in my laptop in about 5 minutes. Called and told them to pick up the decktop one. They told me to keep it. it isn't worth the trouble to come and get it. i gave it to a friend.

The real satifaction came when they e-mailed me a survey.

I dope slapped them has hard as i could--forward and back handed

i wonder if anyone reads that stuff?

                Of course they do.
Dell claims they are #1 in support.
And they owe it all to you and other satisfied DELL customers.
