Hello, I have a 1958 24' downeast picnic boat with an I.H. 240 Palmer engine. I purchased the boat a year ago after it had been in storage the last 10 years. Its water jacket was filled with anti-freeze as it is raw water cooled. I'm concerned with the possibility of increased corrosion now that its back in the water and whether I should convert to an internal cooling system.
I ran the boat for three months last fall and there was an occasional overheating that I'm attributing to cloggage...? Otherwise the motor was overhauled , runs great and stays at 140 dergrees. Thanks

Welcome to the forum, filling in your profile helps us see where you are doing your boating.

If you are operating in seawater, an indirect cooling system will probably see your engine last longer.
