What is the preferred method for filling cracked seams above the waterline? The seams were previously filled with an automotive body filler. Must reef out,but I'm not sure what to fill with. Advise please.

Interlux or Z Spar topside seam compound, of course!
The interlux stuff isn't bad, but it takes a long time to get dry enough to sand. This year I mixed mine with powdered graphite, and it really helped with the application and sanding. My hull is dark, so it's good to have a dark color for the seam compound.
Don't be tempted to use a quick drying compound like Interlux Surfacing putty for the seams. It's good for fairing dings and stuff, but will quickly crack on a seam.
What kind of boat?
