I have a 1966 century resorter, some of the screws wont tighten. How do I fix ?
Have you taken the screw out to see if it's in good condition? Is there enough wood to use the next size up screw? Could there be rot?

Welcome to WB,
If the screws wont hold anymore then you have a few options.
Remove the old ones and go up a size or two for the new screws.
or
Remove the exist screws, if they are still ok, (not corroded) and you want to re-use them, then plug the screw holes with a wooden plug glued in nice n tight, once glue is set trim/sand flush & re drill a new hole for the old screws.
Edit: what ^ Gareth said, if you have rot around the screw then yer gonna have to do some surgery.

Post some more info there mrrover. What is the fasteners purpose? Does it sit flush in a piece of hardware. Is it countersunk under a bung? Any and all details. Pics would be good too.
And can we see pics of the rest of the Century too? I have the weirdest CraigsList experience with a Century.
Thanks...
