Okay, finally getting organized. I have tried to find this year's application. Not available yet but basing my thoughts on last year...

Cost 150.00... my expense not any crew member(s). However, with the 150.00 come four tickets for crew. I've got two possible presently.. elf and green boat.
Before I fill out the application, or as soon as I get the 2008 one, thought I'd ask if anyone else isinterested. Sept. umm 1-4th...
I'm not saying that I won't go if I don't have four people but I'd rather...

Jamie, I think you'll find P'town is around Steven's head space. I've gone down there and shot that event for 5 years now and they are more disorganized than anyone I've ever met, but somehow they manage to put together their big fundraiser dances and such all weekend long, and get enough boats to attract a crowd, especially if the weather's good, and have a lot of P'town type fun - drink, party, dance in the streets, dress up silly etc.

P'town is not your normal regatta. It's unmitigated P'town.

So don't fret. I'll bet if you get 4 tickets, 5 or 6 of us will show up for the sailing, and for not much else except maybe the awards. We'd need the tickets to get into the parties, but we're getting older and have homes, and families and may not much care about the parties at all.

Also, most of the big boats sell tickets to those who wish to come along for the ride. You might want to think about whether Airlie can sustain that, because somebody will show up, for sure, who'd like to look her over and talk shop and come along for the ride.

Jamie,
the web site http://provincetownschoonerrace.com/ lists the dates as Sept 3-7, with the race on the 6th, Saturday.
I'll sign on for Friday evening and the whole day Saturday.

What Emily says about P-town being somewhat disorganized is true.

Thanks all for the insights into this gathering. I have not been to P'town by boat. Have been there.
I was just thinking and planning. Spring is getting closer. I have a land base here although briefly. Easier to plan ahead than play catchup.
Especially as I will be travelling a good bit... between now and then.

Well, you better keep your cell phone turned on and charged up. Much as you like to avoid the plagues of modern life, and you're not the only one, we need to be able to keep in touch with you. And if you go off the deep end into uncharged silence you've lost us.

Have you started to come to terms with the updated computer problem yet?

Do you have a 12v socket installed to recharge the phone?
