I have a trip planned to the Tampa Bay Florida area next Thursday and Friday (02/28-29) which will be all business. But Friday night I am staying in St. Petes so I can watch the start of the everglades challenge Saturday morning. And then I have several hours to kill before my flight leaves.
Ideas? Any wooden boaters going to the EC?

I'm supposed to meet Hugh Horton in Cedar Key that weekend, but, if'n he don't make it, I think I'll go say hi and advertise my mag.

Wouldn't you have more potential readers at Cedar Key?

That's not the Cedar Key boat meet, which is in... http://canoesailingmagazine.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=39&Itemid=69
So, no. But thanks for giving me an opportunity for flagrant self-promotion!

I'll be wandering around in a white polo shirt with black flag boat works on the back. Black flag boat works isn't actually a company, its just what I named the garage.

I'll chase ya down if I make it. Can't tell ya what I'll be wearing, haven't laid out my 'on-som' yet!
Say you're here for business? Or just escaping snow for awhile?

I'd love to go, but there's no chance. Looking at the roster, it sounds like it will be an interesting race. Aside from the usual mix of kayaks and Kruger canoes ... Matt Layden will be back with his eight-foot pram; Graham Byrne will be there again with his EC-22, the all-time record holder; and there are two Core Sound 20s under construction. (But no Norseboat this year, after being thoroughly trounced by Graham Byrne's boats the last two years.) Chief is bringing some sort of trimaran (a "tridarka") that he built to Matt Layden's design. And to round things out, there's a proa and a rowing shell.
Now if only some crazy soul would actually have a go at seeing how far you could get in a PD racer ...

After being assured of two days of work I finished in one day, so I have to leave Florida tomorrow night. I still plan to get down to see the check in tomorrow afternoon. would love to have stayed but the xtra days expenses would have come out of my pocket, which means out of my boat building fund. Building boats 1st, watching others boats 2nd.
Hope you take some pics if you make it Pernicious.
