Is this too difficult? :D

1 MTWTMTW (EDIT: MTWTWTM)
2 5 + 5 + 5 != 550
3 anything here
4 Using the bottom line of the paper and drawing 3 more lines.

Hi Michael :) good try.

I'll post the answers in a day or so.

Giving time for others to try. :D

Yes :D

#3 & 4 are fine but #1 isn't logical and #2 is a fore head slap when you finally crack and Google the answer.

I like my answer for 2. >_>

seanz

5 + 5 + 5 != 550

You can like it as much as you want........an exclamation mark is a stroke with a dot under, that's not what the question wanted.
Let the furious debate commence!!!!!!!
:D

Michael Beckman

I could do the same with one stroke.
= with a / through it.

!= is just easier for the internet.

Don't  cheat... that won't work your gray matter... ;):D

Well I'll be..........
≠ can be expressed as !=
It's a legitimate answer and it's correct but.........
There is another answer, more in the spirit of the other Q's, it is inspirational, you'll be inspired to slap your forehead and say 'Doh'
:)

#1. MTWTFSS

#2. Thought I was clever- but see that seanz has already answered it.

#3. The most obvoius answer to me is what MB said "anything here".

#4. Also what MB said?

#2. Thought I was clever- but see that seanz has already answered it.

Not I.......I've not given any answers.....and I still don't think that answer to #1 is 'logical'.
It could be M T W T G T Q ( I think........)
or M T W T F W T which makes as much sense as M T W T F S S

I looked that answer up. I still like mine better.

Mostly because mine seems like the simple answer, whereas the other is more involved.

My answer just takes the math and throws it out the window. >_>

What's a swquence?

The first indication that things are NQR.
:p

I await the input of a trained and certified logician on #1

Complete this 'swequence' in a logical way

E G B D _

Just because when you see the sequence as M T W T F S S you think 'of course it is, how could it be anything else' doesn't mean it's logical.

OK, I blew through the one minute thinking I was a dummy. Better restart the minute agiain with mine fresh eyes...

MTWTWTM OK, so now I know where Michael got that one...

#2 seems so logically solved already. #3 has got to be anything. #4 ahhhh! It has to be. I'll go check elsewhere now too...

Added: Yep. Got number four, but slightly different than any examples out there.

It's hard to think outside the rectangle sometimes....

All I find out there, when looking for the answers are other forum foolers. I found a couple individually I think. I'm too beat to play anymore. Cant wait to see what the real answers are tomorrow. Good night moon....

:D

The logic is the recurring pattern of named 24 hour periods- the days of the week. The same, albeit a little simpler, than your example of named alternating major and minor thirds. The names of the days may not be logical but the pattern has a logic- Smarty Pants.

Go on say you can't see the logic again.

(5 + 5 + 5)! = 550 is clever, but it's not a single stroke. I think the solution is to make = into "not equal", ≠ .

#1 has multiple logical solutions.

Joe (SoCal)
02-21-2008, 10:49 AM

#1) 5+5+5≠550
#2) 5+545=550 ( in this one you simply change the + by adding one line to a 4 )

Keith Wilson
02-21-2008, 10:57 AM
Hey, 15 factorial isn't 550! I just checked it, and 15! = 1,307,647,368,000. Joe, #2 is very cute.

Vince Brennan

FSS?
Stroke to plus making it 5 + 545
anything
first blush: draw a box and put three lines inside.... probably wrong on all. I'll post and then look at answers

edit:
Well, I think I'm OK after all... suprizing that the one remaining brane cell is still operating...

and

E G B D F (I liked 'major triads', but Occam says it's the lines on the music staff in G clef.)
