I guess the're still around but the web page address they give on the internet will not work for me, it bounces back. :( Does any body know what the present one is ?
I usually use Interlux Teal paint on the topsides of Carrianne but they have discontinued making that color.
I understand they will mix up an order to suit.:D

If all else fails or you find yourself interested in getting the same color and use enamel paint, you can go a couple of ways. Benjamin Moore has a porch and floor enamel thats been a good paint for those type hulls. They also have a machine that will scan any color and can make it for you locally. The next alternative and one I use almost exclusively on all of my wooden hulls including the green inside my Mini Simmons, is go to your local Ace Hardware and pick up their brand called XO Rust the supposed equivilant to Rustoleum. I buy their quart for 7.99. I also use their satin white and use their small pint cans and create a ratio thats user friendly and can be written on the can for recoating and make any color such as that fine color green inside that made online folks gag.:D:p I personally do not like high gloss paints on wooden hull.
In the lighter colors I do also buy their mildew inhibator to blend in the can for marine use making it the best darn marine paint for a knockdown drag out hull such as you have in your boat. The new hull is also Hunter Green and builds up nicely for down the road when you do find the proper mix or order in the proper paint. I use the XO rust for all my buildup coats too, when I have plenty of time for curing for other paints. Mox a cap full of Pentrol and Japan Drier for the first couple of coats, since the darker colors may need several coats.
Another alternative for better paints will be found in many of the auto parts stores that carry the Concept brand paints. They also have a scanner that will do the same thing for anyone looking for a great alternative for an imron style paint. Poof.

Good tips Mike, thanks and I hope other viewers benefit from your info. Interlux isn't the only show in town or Kirby for that matter.;)

Folks at Kirby somewhat deliberately do the minimum needed to make web junkies happy.... Talk to them.

Ya'll know..
I am concerned about this... Even at Jamestown Distributors, Kirby's paint inventory is getting low...
I like using Kirby's paints on planked Dories..
BTW, does Kirby's site webmaster aware of this? Running website are not cheap..
I live right next to New Bedford (Kirby's location) and go there for for my boat and house paint (they sell Pittsburgh and latex paint too). It's a small operation. The 4 brothers run it and mix up the stuff. Very lo-tech place. They probably stopped checking their email the day after the website was set up.
I've had them mix me a few custom colors over the years and they made me an exact match.
Give 'em a call. Nice bunch of guys. You'll probably have to send them a paint chip, if you can't get by there. I know for a fact, they don't have any Interlux.

I used Kirby's on all the boats until the latest kayak. I tried Brightsides.
Nice paint, no concerns or problems. Worked just fine and covered well...
BUT, I like the texture of Kirby's better. Can't really explain it better than that. So, aside from preferring to work with places like Kirby's, I still find I prefer their product. And, yes, by phone.
You won't need this advice, but for us "southern" folks... when he says "Dock Blue" it's not a strange color, it's "dark" blue.

I'll print and save that Mike . I used Kirby 's on my rub rail for the easy touch up and ready made semigloss ,but it's seems a bit soft for that application .The fenders wear it down to the epoxy undercoat , then I retouch . When I've used up the pint I think I'll switch to a something harder . I wonder if a hard paint applied over the soft can give me the abrasion resistance I want or if I'll need to sand down to the epoxy primer ?
Mr. Kirby sometimes lurks here when his product is being discussed ; he's not completely web averse . He PM'd me after one thread to clear up a misconception he felt I'd come away with .
