Yeh, in the marina skip, just sitting there saying "take me" . Anyway i disinfected it, pulled it to bits and gave it a polish and hell it works. :D http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid107/pcc423c62358b0e282a81080c90589d06/f9609740.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid107/p56980193e0f5da63eec97ba4498abf44/f960948f.jpg
The pump wouldn't work when i got it, but worked well when i pulled it apart. Anybody know much about these traditional toilets? The plunger inside the pump i think needs some lubricant not sure of what to use.

Your local swimming pool supply store should have 'O'-ring lubricant that would probably work.

For a cheaper lubricant alternative, try Fleet Enema redface.gif from your local drug store. I know several people who use that instead of the pool lubricant.

Nice find! If you are wondering about age, I can add that I've got a similar one that has "ELCO" cast into the handle. Elco (Electric Launch Co.) went out of business in 1947 +/- a year. I would say it may date to pre WWII. I think the "double bow" shaped toggle at the back end of the handle is an indicator of an older design.

It looks like a precursor of the Wilcox-Crittendon 'Winner' head. At least as of a couple of years ago, parts were still available. It's a good idea to have a spares kit in inventory. The most frequently replaced parts on mine were the 'joker' valve and the pump shaft packing.
There's not much point in lubing the internal parts. They're lubed by seawater and last surprisingly well.

O ring?. you found an O ring in that? All the similar ones I've seen ( and had) had leather plunger whatever you call thems... seals. So a general marine grease to keep them soft is all they require as I understand it.

Yeh thanks guy's. Jim it looks like you're right it just gets lubed with sea water,as you pump in and pump out.
But you know after polishing up that toilet i just couldn't help myself, i pulled the old compass out of the wheelhouse, it's the original compass still in working survey but it had gone all green over the years and
WALA!!! somebody stop me!!!!!!
