What a great surprise to see my copy arrive so early. The cover photo is one of the most beautiful ever.

Details, man, we need details. What are the 'boats for free'? What are those boats on the cover? What are the good articles? Who knows when the rest of us will see it?

Please refrain from any comment on the new issue, because from recent experience mine is still a month away.

Issue 201 is probably in the top 20 all time WoodenBoat issues, because of the quality layout, article depth, photograpghs, and printed word, a most memorable copy. Congratulations and Hats Off to the WB Staff. stephen

You'll find a description here, with a small version of the cover photo (beautiful!) and a listing of the table of contents.

Oh, and "Save a Classic" apparently lists SEVEN boats.

I stopped by our local bookstore to see whether they had 201 in yet, even though mine arrived in yesterday's mail.
They've ceased all their magazine sales for the winter! Sign of the economic times?

Definitely one of the best issues in a long time in many ways-always nice to start so strong on the cover and go all the way to the back page with good stuff. So, who knows what the two boats are on the front cover...?!

The front boat on the cover looks like a Herreshoff Fish. I haven't read the article yet, but I skimmed it and didn't see any reference to the boats shown on the cover.

I'm pretty sure the obscured boat is an LFH Rozinante. The closer one may be an Alerion variant or Gannon and Benjamin design.
The Fish doesn't have an aft deck like that one afaik.

Good point about the aft deck. It looked to small to be an Alerion, but size can be deceiving.

They could at least have tied the peak onto the gaff properly. It is nice to see the telltales flying nicely, they're both being sailed by people who know what they're doing.

rbgarr-good eye!that is a G&B boat and a Rozinante partially obscured-you can't see her mizzen. Both very sweet boats

cd- Do you know which G&B design that boat is?

Could it be the Bella Class: http://www.gannonandbenjamin.com/imgphotos/Blue_Rhythm__Sparrow_on_moorings_05-sm.jpg
Beautiful boats!

sorry for the delay-it is a Bella class-probably the nicest one built as G&B upped their finish levels over time
