I heard on the radio this morning that we broke the Maine record yesterday for turnout at the Democratic caucus. The previous record was four years ago with 17,000 people. Yesterday had over 44,000 show up to caucus! No wonder it was so crowded at the High School.

As time goes on the interest so far generated in this election will seem like the attendance at a "Pop Warner" game vs the Superbowl.

People on both sides of the fence are peeved... and the pols are gonna get a hell of a surprise.

Well, a quick Google shows that Maine's population is around 1.34 Million of which approx. 21% are under voting age (18). 14.5% are over 65.

So an awful lot of people stayed home, too, sadly.

One of the Clinton representatives is quoted in the newspaper as saying that their constituency is working people who didn't have the time to spend two hours at a caucus.

On a Sunday? Seems a stretch.

If Maine had been in the bible belt, the excuse would have been that her consituency was at church.
