What's made of over sixty pieces of Canadiana, from the Golden Spruce, a chunk of the Bluenose, and pieces of Wayne Gretzky's hockey stick to caribou antler, Cape Breton steel, and the oldest rock on the planet? The Six String Nation guitar (http://sixstringnation.com) - and I've been asked to play it at Festival du Voyageur on Saturday night! I'm pretty chuffed. :)

Excellent! Wash your hands first, yeah? :D
I'm envious!

I'm a big fan of 'historical marker" guitars. Someday I'm going to get one of the Taylor "Liberty" guitars, made from the wood from the last surviving Liberty Tree:

The last Liberty Tree was a 400-year old tulip poplar that stood on the campus of St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland until it was severely damaged by Hurricane Floyd in 1999 and subsequently cut down. It was one of 13 historic trees around which Colonial patriots secretly gathered to plot the American Revolution. The Liberty Trees became a popular symbol of the struggle for independence, and were celebrated in a poem by Thomas Paine, published in 1765.

A local guy managed to save all the decent remains of the tree, and Taylor acquired it to make the limited edition guitars.

Bob Taylor would make a guitar out of dirt if he could get the ...wait, dirt and epoxy! Yes! "For that dirty blues sound," I like it.
