I finished the deck beams and started working on the seat supports. Here is a picture of the finished deck beams

The seat supports will be mounted with the actual seats added after the inside hull has been painted. I have layed in the seat slats to check the fit. The seats were salvaged from a defunct lightning.

I should have the seat supports finished this week. There is several tasks needing to be done before the deck goes on including: Painting, supports for the Chain Plates, Center board drum and floatation.

Thanks, Carl for the update. She sure is looking good. My Lightning is still upside down awaiting re-planking. Some day I'll get to flip her and have at the topsides. I've never seen a complete Lightning, so every picture I see is an inspiration. So that is where those curved seats I have stored in the trusses will go.

Even at this stage, those great lines show through. Looking good.

That's an intersting "boat shed" you've set up.

Just a quick update (no pics),

This weekend I installed the Boweye, finished the rudder, chainplate supports and more painting. I'm hoping to start installing the deck this week. I also got about half the rigging parts I need, some are on backorder. Dave Nickels has been a tremondous help in working with me to determine the best rigging setup and still keep the woodsy feel. I plan on having an adjustable backstay, boom vang 4:1, clew outhaul, crosby main sheet rigging, and jib car set (mounted just inside the splash guard). I will most likely need to replace the track on my wooden mast for the goose neck fitting from the boom. The one on the mast is an 7/8" internal and we can't a mate.

I will post pictures of the rigging as I install it for those who are restoring lightnings to see what I ended up with.

Carl.
