I removed a heavy bronze rudder from an inboard powerboat. The rudder is covered with 7 coats of paint, most of which was removed using a chemical stripper. The last coat seems to be a black primer of sort which is unaffected by the stripper. I was planning to go over the rudder carefully with a small disc sander to get it stripped and smooth. Even still, what's my next step in getting a high gloss smooth rudder?
