After a good thunderstorm last night it looks like the old Sperry's are ready for the boating season. No leaks! And my wife thinks I need new ones.

I'd explain that if the water doesn't leak right out, that means the water won't leak right in. Therefore, and in conclusion.... You have a perfectly fine pair of water-tight boat shoes, that need no replacing! :D
But the underlying question still remains... Does stink float? tongue.gif :D :D

No need for slits, the action of sailing seems to pump out the water that collects. Yes they do squish but that is why I still like the simple leather boat shoes without the fancy insole pads etc - the leather works well wet. And no stink either unless I forget to leave them out in the rain every so often!

They appear useful for a weather forecasting tool as well. The day appears dry and calm, following a period of rain showers.
Don't lose those shoes.

Hey!! Looks at the big gaps in those planks!!! Must be at least 1/2" Ya better shuve soma that rubber goop in those seams pretty quick. And also there is no trace of paint on those planks! Why some of them have big cracks in them. What a way to maintain a boat!

I thought the photo was out the sliding door on a big sportfisherman and they usually have a big door in the transom to let the big marlin float in as backing floods the deck with 3 or 4 inches of water.
Boats have skuppers, so do my shoes.
