How about sending them a few Mitsubishi's Ian?

Any car exec that expected the 380 to sell to its supposed economic levels should be given an (unrestored) FJ to drive. What an ugly duckling that was - based on the old US-designed Galant IIRC.

The new Mitsubishi Lancer on the other hand - designed by an Aussie.

I got a "404" from the site... along with a note:

"Sorry, Mate, but we were so flamin' embarrassed by even writing about this piece of ***** that we took it off the website!"

Looks like a Chrysler 300 with a load in it's nappies, dunnit?

Ooog-lie.

Its a shame isn't it. You stick with a brand because something about it sings to you.

and then comes the parting of the way.

But is it a ute?

The Bigfella

Look at it this way John. Its just a company providing what the customer wants.

I was thinking about posting a new thread "Cars that make you laugh" - I snickered the other day in traffic when I watched a Ford FPV GT or some such thing - brand new - come up behind me in the traffic. Blue with white stripes, wheels that pretty much flashed "look at me, look at me" - absolutely comical.

double cab ute it'd be called here. And as such is FBT free( tax) provided it was sign written.

I nearly like these... not sure if I could get one in a manual yet.

doesn't solve the fbt issue technically either.

GM’s product boss Bob Lutz has revealed that while the two-door Commodore Ute will be exported to the US to be badged as a Pontiac,.....
Holden is also developing the next-generation Chevrolet Camaro for General Motors, like the GMC concept based on the Commodore platform. It’s due in 2009.

Now that's an auto company not designing for $100+/barrel oil. A car that looks like a pickup but doesn't have any better load carrying capacity than a minivan. In other words,,a faux truck.

I'd rather have a station wagon and a trailer for the rare times " big dirty stuff" has to be carried, otherwise get a real truck

My guess is it is a replacement for Clinton's El Camino....

He needs something with a back seat when Hillary is out of town:D

Big Fella, when I sold my dead '80 VW vanagon the kid who bought it drove up in a VW a little like that and towed his next project van away.
