I am in need of some 3/4" bronze ringshank nails but I don't know how the gauge sizes compare to penny weights. What would compare to a 6d nail?

Glenn,
I'm not sure if you're referring to a 6d common nail, box nail, finish nail, or other type. I'm not sure what the numerical gauge of any of those measure out to, anyway.
I did a quick search for American Wire Gauge standards and came up with this site showing diameters of the AWG gauges: http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/awg_e.html
Hope it is of some help.

Glen, I measured the diameter of bronze ring nails in my collection to be as follows:
14 0.093"
12 0.118"
10 0.148
I measured over the rings. Knock off a few thou if measured right under the head.
A 3/4" 14ga. ring nail is a heafty little dude.

Thanks. Looks like 12 is the one I want. I'm laying up the cabin sides with 3 layers of 1/4" okoume and epoxy. Can't for the live of me figure a way to vacuum bag it so I figure I will clamp the top edge, screw the bottom into the carlin and nail the middle.
