Of late, a large portion of the bilge has spewed some incredibly bilious vitriol with regards to both individuals practicing religion and organizations that provide a framework for like minded individuals.
Anyways... I look around my city, and my state, and my nation and see organized religion do a lot, and I mean a lot of good. If organized religion suddenly disappeared would you, could you fill the gaps? Would you feed, cloth, and shelter the poor and indigent? Would you help to educate the young and not so young? Would you help to heal the sick and care for the weak, the blind, the elderly? Could you provide solace for those that are tortured spiritually?
etc? etc? etc?
Just a few thoughts for those that seem to overly harshly condemn the current state of organized religion in our various societies.
