Dear All,

We now have a new (and FREE) service for you: WoodenBoat Videos.

Simply go to www.WoodenBoat.com/videos.html and follow the Upload instructions to post YOUR videos in the appropriate category. Of course this will only work (to vew or upload) if you have a reasonably fast internet connection. And to view videos in different categories, please note the tabs at the top of the Videos home page. Simply click the arrow on the right to see all the categories.

Some of the videos there are simply place-holders. We'll remove them once others are posted in those categories.

We hope you will enjoy this new service. In time we will add a "Comments" field to each video.

My best wishes to you on behalf of all of us, Carl

Carl, this is a wonderful addition to our favorite publication. If you can come up with something this great why can't you get us the damn magazine on time? I'm not buying the "that's how it is" excuse. Looks to me like you are preparing for the day when all magazines will be E-zines and if so we might as well all buy fiberglass boats. The same is happening to our local newspaper which was once a fine piece of journalism but now looks like USA Today - a lot of multi-colored blank space with large print but no substance. WB is, to a lot of us, one of the last bastions of sanity in a very F------P world so please keep that little bit of something we can hold in our hands, collect on our shelves and enjoy till they smell too bad and rot away much like our prime subject. If the publication was not so well done I would not be so concerned, but it is and that is why we feel so strongly about anything which may affect the base magazine content and presentation. I'm really not trying to offend, but my current impression is that WB might be turning into something run by folks more concerned about job security more than than the subject and how it is presented.
This WB Vidieos IS a great addition but I'm very concerned about the time and effort which is required to do this so tell me that this has been done in all your SPARE time after the magazine content has been put together and my issue will be delivered ON TIME BEFORE it is on the store shelves.

Thank you all for your uploads last night and today. We feel this is a wonderful way to announce the online community.

Michicangeorge, thanks for yours as well. The motivation behind the videos is just as I said above. The magazine is NOT moving to pictures only. This is a supplement to the magazine, the community, in the same way the Forum is, WoodenBoats4Sale is, etc. etc.

In terms of your subscription delivery problems -- Have you told anyone here? Please email me: carl@woodenboat.com with your mailing address, and we'll look into it.

I'm not quitting or shirking my day job for the videos, I promise you. WoodenBoat has always been the highest priority for me, since Issue #1. Even though I had to wait for 13 or so years to be hired.

My best wishes to you, and please keep those posts and views coming, Carl
