I am having trouble finding the FG pipe that goes in a shaft log.
What do I need to know about it?. Prop shaft will be 3/4".
If I went with bronze tube; what do I need to know there?

If the shaft is 3/4" d what should the ID of pipe be?

gert. On Uncas I used thich PVC pipe. Replaced one made out of lead and looking like Swiss Cheese.
Not sure whether it was a good idea or not but it seemed to work.

I had no dice finding bronze tubing for my shaft log. On my dad's recommendation I used common copper water pipe. Cheap, too. For my 3/4" shaft the ID of the tube is a little over 7/8". I had to wrangle a bronze fitting to attach the stuffing box to.
