Hi all...Please forgive me, I'm new at this. Was not sure about this forum after reading about BAR's and automatic weapons but I'll give you a try. I am attempting my first "scratch built" U.S.S. Constitution in 1:48 Scale. I have most of the books I need on this subject. One of the references I have is Wolfram zu Mondfeld's book "Historic Ship Models" where he describes the tappering of the masts and gives the mast tappering dimensions as "6/7" or "14/15". Am I correct in "assuming" that he means six sevenths of the masts full diameter and so forth or is there some trick to this? If somebody out there could give me a hand I would appreciate it and my thanks in advance.

It sounds like you are building your model from books instead of from the actual plans.
The plans are available about 300-400 sheets of plans on CD for about $15.00, your government working for you.:D
Some where I have the ordering info give me some time to find it.
Where are you located?
