A different Sarah, built in the Cape Cod Maritime Museum boat shop:
A sorry sight in Cotuit. Among other things it looks like the cabin hatch may have been dislodged(?) :(

btw, I learnt a little trick that makes viewing the large photos easier.
In Firefox if you right click on the image, then select 'view image' the browser resizes the image to fit your screen. Since I've found this feature I've really come to appreciate the size of the pictures you post.:)

Nice! It looks like Sarah came from the South. "MS 1886 CC"?
The other one ... I'd be tempted to row out there in the cold myself with a bucket. I'd ask around first though.

Re boat registration state designations:
MS is Massachusetts
MI is Michigan

I had assumed the first part of the boat registration number was the same as the postal code for that state. But it's not. I can't find a complete listing of what codes match which states.
I found a source that says "MI" is for Mississippi.
"BOAT REGISTRATION NUMBERING SYSTEM AND PROPER DISPLAY
The numbering system consists of three parts: the first part consist of the symbol MI, which designates Mississippi; the second part consists of a numerical group having a maximum of four digits; and the third part an alphabetical group having a maximum of two letters; each part shall be separated by hyphens or equivalent spaces."
For Michigan it must be "MC" according to this:
"Letters must be separated from the numbers by a space or hyphen; for example: MC 3717 ZW or MC-3717-ZW."

Sarah was built at the Cape Cod Maritime Museum to replicate an earlier Sarah
More info here.

That's right about MC being Michigan. Suffered a brain-skip about the state which has the largest number of registered boats! :wow:
As much as I dislike Catboats and Massachusetts , it's sad to see them left like that.
The sinking one looks as if it was cared for recently.

Jeez, Gareth, I listed Catboats and the Massachusetts location right there in the title so you (specifically) could pass on by just muttering to yourself, but Nooooo! :D

I didnt think Sarah was finished yet. I almost stopped by the museum to look at her last month while at the IRYS planking class.

I better pay attention to details. I guess I didnt look at the date on thier website.
RBGARR - any chance of getting a copy of the files? I cant get enough shots of catboats.
