1955 Chris cruiser w/ fir decks. I'm refinishing and need to hear from you all if there is a consensus as to the best product to gun into the seams. The decks will be stained and clearcoated. Sikaflex has many versions and numbers. Boat life has been recommended. Gotta be sandable, stainable and clearcoatable. Thanks!

Welcome Aboard! One product I would consider is Elastometric, the manufacturer makes that one product. Life caulk is not the answer tho it is sandable. Teak requires a prime coat of paint before filling. I used knife grade seam compound a two part product by Glouster(sp).

Some good builders in these parts are using the goop from Teak Decking Systems. SIS440 – TDS TEAK CAULKING (http://www.teakdecking.com/caulking%20products.htm) It's a silicone product and is very nice to work with. Dunno about varnishing it.
