Whole cities are leaving? Check out Google Earth 43°43'46"N 90°14'31"W and make sure the Wikipedia links are turned on.

Took me a minute to figure out what was wrong...I did not register at first that I was not in fact looking at Maine! Seems as if someone somewhere entered 70 degrees west as 90 degrees west. The page in Wikipedia seems to show the correct lat and long so I am not sure where the error is creeping in.

That's OK by me. It makes it only about 150 miles from my house. Now I can go to Maine for the day and come home to sleep in my own bed if I wish. :D

LOL. Only 150 miles to a nice anchorage and some great sailing on Casco Bay!

Exactly what I was thinking. I can give up the slip on Lake Pepin. ;)

Man my youth would have been a bit different if it had not been 1,500 miles from my home in Minnesota to my grandparents' house in Maine!

At least you had grandparents in Maine. :D Mine were in southern Iowa.
Do you ever get back here to Minnesota?

Southern Iowa is not so bad, but Maine was (and is) certainly very nice.
It is kind of sad, but since I left Minnesota to go college back in 1985, I've probably been back for a total of about a month. My parents retired to Maine and my only real friend from high school moved to Seattle, so my sister is my only remaining "human" connection to Minnesota and it is a lot easier to visit her when she is in Maine visiting my parents...

Oh well, at least you get to avoid our mosquitos. :D

HA. Yeah right. If Maine has any fewer mosquitoes per square foot of air than Minnesota, it is made up for by more blackflies!
