Does any one have the schematics for a Chris craft Steering wheel? My 1956 18' Holiday came with a frozen fuel throttle (an aftermarket was installed on the side). I would like to restore it to original, I have the wheel off and the fuel lever removed but cant figure out how the thing is supposed to work! how do you remove the steering wheel? the nut inside seems frozen! The tube that held the horn wire is locked to the nut and the buttom gear. I thought the rod was supposed to be locked  to the fuel lever and turn independent of the wheeL? All help is appreciated. Al

Al, you may be able to get a schematic of this from the Chris-Craft collection at the Mariners' Museum
www.mariner.org (http://www.mariner.org)
Jerry Conrad is the Curator and his assistant's name is Katie. Both are helpful. They can even give you a copy of the hull card that accompanied your boat through the Chris-Craft factory as it was being built.
If you wish to contact them over the telephone, their number is
(800) 565-6846
Hope this helps!
