    Antler Pipe

    I received a nice email a wile back from a formite asking if I still smoked a pipe. I replied that I do and he said he enjoyed my posts would like to send me an antler pipe. Well last week the pipe arrived and it is truly a wonderful addition to my pipe collection

        Be careful with that pipe Joe... Un cured antler can be muy toxic.

                              All bone/antler is toxic. The dust from grinding/sanding is the worst, but burning it is also very bad for you. This is why people who work with the stuff professionally use a positive flow air mask, and a down draft vacuum table. I can't recall the disease it causes, but something about cysts in the lungs and throat rings a bell....
