I have access to a hustler badly in need of restoration. I have posted some pictures on the following web site: http://users.adelphia.net/~sscostello/hustler/hustler%20on%20the%20rocks.htm
Would anyone know where I could find some Photo's or plans for this boat? I was told the designer was Charles Mower. I know thye were sailed mostly in the Boston area and some hulls were fiberglass.
Thank you!

Steve,
I think your best bet is to contact these guys at Squantum Yacht Club:Bud Welsh, Steve Reid and Dick Berger.http://www.squantumyc.org/index.htm, 617-770-4811.
I don't know them but saw their names regarding Quincy Bay Race Week.
I grew up in Weymouth where Hustlers were pretty popular and I was about ready to pick one up last year but couldn't justify another boat. Nice boats though. Let me know if you don't decide to buy your project. Maybe I'll take another look. Good Luck

I thought when reading the post that maybe the Hustler you were referring to was the same as in this Rosenfeld photo (http://www.rosenfeldcollection.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=rosenfeld.imageDetail&mkey=256294&deriv_id=m321334-t.jpg&st artRow=1).
I bought this photo and framed it when I was in high-school & credit it with sparking my interest in wooden boats...

Pics don't show up for me. I've always admired Mower's designs and like a gander at this one.

Funny what you get when you type "Hustler" into Google.
Probably not the thing you want to do at work.
You got me interested again though. I'll report back what I find as things progress.

Thank you for the feed back! I have contacted the Squantum Yacht Club and they will pass my request to view a Hustler onto their members. I will try to keep the website updated with my progress. I am sure I will be posting a lot in the future. Can everyone view the photo's on the website?
Thanks!

Biography of Charles D. Mower
Born in 1875, Charles Drown Mower of New York was a noted yacht designer and author, and was at one time design editor of the Rudder magazine and a contributing author to Motor Boating magazine. From 1895 to 1899 he studied yacht design with Arthur Binney and later Bowdoin B. Crowninshield. In 1911 he began a partnership with Thomas D. Bowes in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During World War I he served as a lieutenant commander in the Construction Corps, Naval Reserve. After the war, Mower worked alone and in partnership as Mower and Humphries Ltd. He was also a chief naval architect at Henry B. Nevins, Inc., City Island, New York, and in 1937 was associated with the office of Nelson & Reid, Inc. He was official measurer of the Manhasset Bay Yacht Club, the Cruising Club of America and the New York Yacht Club. Charles D. Mower died in 1942.

Thanks

Any luck with your restoration? I am beginning my own on hull #110. Would love to see your results! ...By the way, I have located a copy of the original design plans.

I have always wanted a Hustler snce the 60's. Yes that is a long time but I remember them very well during Quincy Race Week. Any chance of getting a copy of the plans. I have been trying to find a boat worth refurbishing for years but no luck. Building seems the only hope. Thanks!

Sure thing! Send me a private message or email with your info. The plans are to large for me to scan so I will have to mail you a copy.

I obtained a set of plans several years ago from AL Grenier of Quincy. They were revised in the 1970's. davelauc gave me a copy of the plans that were revised in the 50's. I haven't had a chance to compare them yet.
