I'm making raised panel bulkheads out of western maple. I will paint white for classic finish. What glue would you recommend for rails and stiles? Tightbond II or epoxy?
thanks

If it were my project the Tightbond II would probably win out, though I'd look at some of the construction glues in a caulking tube for ease of use and lower drip factor. Epoxy is overkill, expensive, and difficult since it has to be mixed and could run out of the joint on you.

I am with Conrad on this one! smile.gif Titebond sounds like the way to go on this project! smile.gif

Just be sure that the raised panel "floats" freely.

Spissgatter W-9,
You know, you are required to post potographs of your new, old, restorable, newly restored, or work in progress boat. Please rectify the situation as soon as possible. I think I speak for most of us here, we'd love to some pictures of your double ender, no matter what condition she is in.

I'll disagree and recommend one of the poly's like Elmers Probond or TiteBond Poly.
Aliphatics...white and yellow glues...are gosh-awful to glue over when and if somebody has to repair this work one day. Polys haven't stood the test of time but seem to reglue with epoxy pretty well.

Spissgater,
Your boat, and the others in that directory are some of the finest boat porn I have ever seen!
Thanks,
