I like the Newick 32 design. It would be fun to have one to trailer up and down the coast here, putting in for a days exploring etc. The Gougeon Brothers built two lightweight models, set them up for camping and fishing, and got 8-10 mpg at 12-15 knots.

Looks like a pontoon boat without the comfort. I do think there is a niche for a multihull platform with low power requirements and or electric propulsion.

I would like to see something like a wharram/canoe hulls with a z-pod in the center for omnidirectional steering. Made from ply or strip and with a victorian style superstructure.
