Even though the term 'star' is grossly inappropriate for those who are in those films, there's a joke about how the names are assigned . It's something like the name of a pet you've owned plus a street address where you've lived. Mine, for example could be 'Jigger West'.

Now there's an opportunity to find your 'nautical character'.

It has to do with special codes of nautical flags. My initials are D. T., so using the code as decribed here http://www.sailorschoice.com/seamanship/alphabet_pennants.htm
my nautical character is as follows, "I am maneuvering with difficulty. Don't cross my bow."

My daughter's is "I am conducting a speed trial. I need a pilot."

Meanwhile her husband's echoes the sentiment with "I need a pilot. I need a pilot.":D

Each of these descriptions is strangely appropriate in our cases. ;)
