Cool. The fact that the board is stationary upstream against the current means it's generating lift - and plenty of it - right? Didn't know they could do that.

That's a Mistral windsurf board. I used to have one and they're great beginner's boards for the size and type. Can't tell whether he has the 'centerboard' in place, which would be a problem hitting shallows or rocks. So probably not unless the water is pretty deep and the board is in the pivot-up position. Even then it's probably not in use.

He's surfing the small standing wave upstream. Looks like fun if you can find a suitable place like that set of mild rapids!
