Sarah doesn't quite know what to make of it, but I know what it is:

I'll post firing pictures and victory lap pictures in a bit. Right now I've got to get back down and check on Sarah (we have a fair leak around the shaft) and I have three grandkids who I promised to take to for pizza and the playground. It is a really close tie which responsibility is going to push me over the edge.

But Sarah can take on a little water and the grandkids can wait while I take the time to post these photos and thank you all for the 100th time for your support and encouragement over the years.

And for the first time thank you for the beautiful cannon. It already is Sarah's most treasured piece of adornment and one that will be a permanent part of her and our life on the water.

Thank you all!

You should be Proud Margo........Very Proud.

Following along on the progress here and seeing SARAH in the water
is just too much for words.

I will be waiting patiently for pics when the sails are set:cool:.

Ah the joy of it all! That breach looks like a Herreshoff cannon; a rare but, well deserved gift indeed!

Thanks again EVERYONE! It was an absolutely perfect part of an absolutely amazing day/milestone.

The cannon - er YSSD (Yacht Signaling Safety Device) is still in the car as you never know when you might need a YSSD...

Seriously, I've been trying to get it engraved, but so far the local folks haven't wanted to touch it. Something about it being too heavy for their machines...

For engraving, find the oldest gunsmith you can. He may have the skills to "hand" engrave. Keep some buckshot on board in case you ever have to fend off pirates.

BOOM!

There it is!

A fitting adornment to a fine boat.

Bravo Zulu to all conspirators involved!

(Now to get another one and use 'em for earrings?)

(Where's the censored jib traveller, then?)

Great pictures Margo.
Sarah looks great.

BTW, You have to work on your pirate persona. Cringing when you fire the cannon isn't the right look.:D

Hey Margo, Sarah looks incredible. Maybe I've missed the update, but have you found your leak yet? What was it? Its a great story to see all of your hard work come together and float. Look forward to the sailing videos.
