Her sister "Spindrift" was the builder's personal boat. He's been dead for years, Spindrift is on the bottom of the Middle Branch of the Patapsaco River in Baltimore. I worked for the Balco Yacht Company where she was built. Hope someone takes her.

I do hope someone does right by her. It's a good thing she's not close. Looks like a really daunting task.

The biggest shame is I live here else Id be like you and Dave!! and between us we would end up with sooooooo many boats we would rarely go sailing be too busy fixin!! :eek: :D and just look at that!! the reserve has been met at just US $1,895.00 ...sigh :rolleyes:

Good question, fig. What she could be is absolutely beautiful; what it will cost to get her there is more than I have. Sadly.

FYI-Contacted the owner through e-bay for a "schedule of needed repairs". He estimated a $100,000 price tag for the refurb. Too rich for my blood (at least so far-I'm an optimist)! Not sure if this was based on a high quality survey or not.
