Dealing with the mortgage company there has been a long, long string of “missed” communications. I call them lies but perhaps not. They send a check but include the ex girlfriend’s name on the check and I can’t cash it. They promise to send another with just my name on it. I wait 10 days and it doesn’t come (promised overnight). I call them back and they say they will send it over night (again) after 9 days of night I get the check…it still has the ex’s name on it. They ask me to sign a document and fax it to them…I agree. They call back two days later and indicate they don’t have the fax number I gave them…I give it them again. They fax the document to be signed. This is repeated three times and I fax it to them three times weeks apart. And on and on…WHAT A LIFE OF LIES TO WORK IN AN OFFICE!

You shouldn't be dealing with ANY of this.... it's what lawyers are for, and if you had taken this advice back when it was first given, you'd have your money in your hand, minus a modest (but entirely worthwhile) legal fee.

Alas, masochism is still the preferred mode of behavior for many Americans! :D

Tarring with a broad brush I guess Matt...
