Well I just spent way too much time editing down an hours worth of video to 7 minutes 23 seconds and 17 tenth of a second YouTube video.

I then had to compress it to an mp4 format using a shareware program call iSquint™. It takes a long time, like 30 minutes. Well I had to try it 5 times because in the compression I kept loosing the wicked cool Etta James "At Last " Soundtrack  Finally after after the 6th attempt I just gave up and left it out and uploaded :(

If anyone has a better mp4 compression program for Mac please direct me to one.

Well without further adue here is the video of me sailing with Lucky dog and a special guess star at the end. ;)

Its still loading so it may take a little time before it is avalable to view.

Also about 2:40 into the video an absolutely beautiful wooden sailboat passes does anyone have any info as to what it is?

And for you motor boats enthusiast at 4:40 there is a loverly 1960 Chris Craft.

Enjoy

And I thought that editing video on a Mac is painless and easy? :)

(Just kiddin'... you'd realy love the stuff in my wife's studio... A G4, a G5, and a couple of iMacs, terabytes of external disk space, and Final Cut Pro... it's a video editing orgasm, for sure)

Love those sailing videos.... one of these days, I hope to produce one of my own... as soon as I can finish this 5 year 'build' of my own catboat :(

Fun video, but I still think Lucky would have had more fun sailing in Talisman with Russel. :)
That schooner was a beauty.

That looks like Adventuress, the 95' Fife out of Newport. Just had a big overhaul at Newport Shipyard, and looks to be under new ownership. US courtesy flag at the *bd spreader.

Cant watch your video- my puters too slow and Im on du. Hope you got Lucky in a life jacket. If he ever goes over by the time you got back if you could find him it might be too late. I believe Brian had that misfortune with his dog. I lost one of mine overboard once and was lucky.

its a beamy stable catboat in 10 knot winds and Lucky dog sleeps and is never prone to jumping around. I don't take him out in anything too breezy so no life jacket needed. I'm sure there is going to be lots of grief posted about this but no one knows how my boat handles or where I sail or how my dog behaves like I do.

I just know from my service days that the chance of recovering a man overboard arent too good- and thats with hundreds of pairs of eyes looking along with the added benefit of heigth. Its your pup, but he trusts in you to do what is best for him. I bet you wouldnt take your daughter out without one would ya?

Brian W lost his dog just last year off a 40 foot power boat. Proabably more maneuvarble than a sailboat and with some heigth for spotting a man overboard.

I hate to see animals suffer for the stupid bullheadedness of people.

anyway, dont you have some little boxes to glue up or something, jimmy?

There is a HUGE difference between a 40 foot power boat with an excitable puppy, in Sitka Alaska. Than an old sleeping lab on a beamy slow Catboat Sailboat in 10 knot winds in the narrowest section of the Hudson. Hell Lucky Dog could probably swim to the shore faster than I could pull him out.

You SIMPLY as usual do not KNOW A DAMN THING about what you are talking about. I know MY boat , MY river and MY lazy dog. So don't give me ****e until you can afford broadband and are able to see the video and what an arsehole you are making out of yourself by talking crap.

Talking about crap and stupid bullheadedness of people, what is this like you 158th screen name thats is about to get Banned yet again, Dutch ?

Oh and fer Christ sake learn how to spell before you try to school me

By the way I have to say this was one of the most stunning wooden boats I have ever had the pleasure to sail past in my entire life.

Joe,

Julia and I just had a chance to watch this video. Thanks for the mention and it did look like you and Phil were sailing as slow as you could. Great stuff. Lucky looked nice and comfy and happy the coaming's just the right height to hold up his head.

Keep 'em coming.

Russ

I don't know... just who WAS the Lucky Dog in that video... I saw three of them, myself!
Keep them coming, Joe. I'm jealous as hell, but at least I got to do a little sailing tonight, thanks to you.

It was a great Sunday evening sail Joe...Really fun for some reason...Maybe it was the crazy tide that let us ride a broad reach treadmill and pull a 'Manheimer' (Sailing as slow as we could ;o)...

Thanks for the effort on the video, and the pick up off the south dock!!

I enjoyed the video. Like others, I really liked the line about the boat sailing in place. :)
