We went out on Saturday on a friend's 42' snotter - a new (last Christmas) Beneteau 42. Nice sail - albeit a bit cold. Wind was not seen to go below 18 knots - quite commonly at 25 with 30 knot gusts.

I think everyone took the helm at some stage - even Riaz - a sailing virgin.

Some old yobbo in a motocycling jacket and Greek fisherman's cap (take note Shane!). This bloke was at the helm when we took a wave and he ended up on the leeward wheel in one very fast slide across the teak. Scored a nice bruise to the midriff too.

The old chook showing that champers shouldn't be left near her

Lion Island - which guards the entrance to Pitwatter (the direction we are heading), the Hawkesbury River - to the Island's tail, and Brisbane Waters to the other side (nothing to do with the city of Brisbane - its a long way North, 600 miles or so). Fairy Penguins breed on Lion Is.

The pictures are a bit dark - I guess a bit of flash fill - or a quick bit of photoshopping would help.
