Vermont won (??) a legal case against the automakers in a seriously misguided attempt to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by setting mileage standards.
GM says it can't meet the standard by 2016 even if it spends $25 billion. So, it may be forced to "abandon" some states that adopt the standard.
Chrysler says there are only two cars it could sell that would meet the 2016 standard -- one of them is a Chinese car made by workers making about $1 a hour - Chery Automotive's A1.
