Now Here's (http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/tls/416570454.html) is a band saw for resawing! I just stumbled on a 36 inch bandsaw with a 36-inch resaw capacity on the Seattle Craig's list:

Grob 6V-36, 15HP variable-six speed, 25-15600 fpm, 36"W x 36"H capacity, power feed, 3-phase, Tom 206-953-8768

Hey Jim, if you have the $15,000 asking, I'd think the three phase problem could be overcome!

My bandsaw had a 3 hp 3 phase on it when I bought it , I removed it and fitted a 1 1/2hp 240volt single phase .It is quite powerful enough for ripping 6" or more .It's a 26" lump of iron ...very nice !
