It seems to be a reasonable breakdown and it uses US military figures .Any comments ?

Statistics indicating, in the boldest print, the complexity of the situation in Iraq, cannot be read through the steel shield of the political necessity to keep it simple.

wow,,not exactly "Iraq for Dummies" but damn near. Thanks.

"These days most of the Sunni fighters are Iraqis, and that means the US and Iraqi governments have no choice but to talk to them."

dang,,who would have thought,,for a year they were called terrists, like the ones that brung us 9/11.

Maybe someone could clarify something. If the Badr Brigade used to be Iraqis in Iran, and they were pleased to see Saddam go,,and the Iraqi Ministry of the Interior used to be the leader of the Badr Brigade then there must be some kind of organic relationship with Iran and easily identified associations of individuals with Iran that would "prove" Iranian assistance. As though Iraq didn't have enough Iraqis willing to kill fellow Iraqis and occupation forces?
