Resting up, eating 2 doxycycline a day, trying to choke down some real food, watching spots appear on every part of my body. Sounds like fun? Let me get a tick for you.

Took the boat out with the child bride, ran out of diesel, sailed back to the mooring.
Picked up the mooring too fast, but go away with it first go.
Made a cup of tea and went home for fathers day dinner cooked by my son, chicken pie. Overall a great day, 25C on the second day of spring.
I'll have to check the fuel filters before I start the engine again.

I thought that may have been your 635 at Eastern Creek today Paul - I took a photo - but obviously not.

Well - today was Father's Day in Oz - started by fitting a new diff to the wife's car with my eldest son (he destroyed the original diff - or was unlucky enoiugh to be driving when it went), went to the Australian Musclecar Masters event at Eastern Creek, came home, finished putting the driveshafts in the car, worked on the VW project with the son as well. The other son shouted takeaway Chinese food for dinner.

Now for the Moto GP.

Cleaning up this and that, getting ready to hit the road at 0400 Tuesday. Catch the train in Portland at 8. Change in Boston at noon. Change in Albany around dinner time. Change in Chicago around 1100 Wednesday. Get picked up by Jami in Milwaukee Wednesday afternoon.

I've got to do some laundry and figure out what to pack, and what to pack it in. AmTrack says 28x14x22", and less than 50#, two pieces max, carry on.

Also did some firewood.

Tides weren't late enough and there was thunder off in the distance. Going to try before daybreak tomorrow in time to net bait and to catch the last 2 hours of the max flood for the monster reds.

Nice Bimmer, mine's a sort of metallic red. Hasn't been out for a few weeks. Great news about Stoner and Vermeulen, Phillip Island should be a cracker.
And a public holiday this friday for the start of the Rugby World Cup, wahooo!!

Pickin' 'maters. Tying up 'maters. Weeding. Mowing. Eating 'maters. Watching tennis.

Oh yeah...I also ordered 2,410 spring flowering bulbs, 18 varieties. They'll arrive in late October, so my dance card is full for November. :D

I'm supposed to get the final preliminary (?) drawings from the architect this week. Then another week for the full-blown plans. Then we start (continue) demo. Then the plumber and electrician start their funny business.

None of the bulbs will go near construction/destruction. The only exterior areas involved in the first phase will be window replacement and new sewer and water mains.

Say hello to your sister, we don't always agree but I value her opinion. I hope you'll continue to keep an eye on the tropics while you're travelling (ask if you want me to shoulder some responsibility).

I ran a boat race today. I'm loading all the pictures at one which is taking time. I'll post them in Misc boats when they come up.

Got some quality time in the ER early Friday morning, which skewed the whole weekend's plans. (Nope, not a kidney stone after all. But Morphine is my friend.) Still, managed to do a lot of work around the house, earn a 3 digit return at the Saturday farmer's market, clean the coop, rethink the tent and parking plans for this coming Saturday's big bash, and acquire a fair to middlin' sunburn.

Next weekend my sweetie & I celebrate 20 years together with the party we never had 20 years ago. Should be fun, I think. I don't necessarily want to post it here, but am willing to share the blog address via PM for those who'd like to follow along on line.

Spent the last three days ripping out rot on the cabintop and replacing it with good wood. Just need to sand it down, seal and paint it (next weekend's project).

Daughter's wedding on our thirty second anniversary and my sister's sixtieth birthday! Happiest days of my life. Oldest daughter was a fantastic professional photographer for the wedding, son played cello for the ceremony, cousins organized extensive and hilarious games for new relations and their children, a lobster bake for 100 people and barbecue for 170, a scavenger hunt covering four beautiful peninsulas. The Maine weather couldn't have shown itself better: northwest wind on Saturday, southwest on Sunday, absolutely clear and sunny. Continued good weather today and took lots of those still here sailing all over.

Perfection. It was the Best Wedding Ever!

Well I really didn't know what I was doing this last weekend till I woke up Saturday morning and talked with the wife. Did go to the first high school football game of the season Friday night.

Ended up buying a new entertainment stand that combinded my TV/home entertainment set-up with my stereo and re-arranging the living room, which lead to a trip out and new couch and chair (more on that later). Of course moving the TV meant crawling under the house and re-routing the Sat. connection. By than it was football time so I watched the game.

Next day was kinda of a lazy day in which I ended up washing the boat, cleaning the pool and swimming.

The next day I went to work for half a day and than went home and did some work on the shop ;), cut the grass and varnished the boat.

More on the new couch and chair. Being as our living room is small we wanted to downsize our couch and chair to help the living room grow some. We ended up at some furniture store that had a leather recliner and a love seat couch out front. The recliner was a return and the loveset had a broken leg. We ended up buying both for only $400. As we walked out another salesman came up and told our salesman that he had already sold the loveset. Our guy told us that he had another one in the back. So when I got back with the truck we ended up with a new loveset for the price of the damaged one ($159).

Buncha house work (finished back steps, cut grass etc.). Spent Saturday afternoon poking around in a park with my youngest, looking for salamanders. Found a bunch, and some frogs.

Went for a great hike with the same lad on Monday morning, through a bunch of trails around a local lake.

Kids started school this morning - the two older are now both in high school, the youngest rides his school bus without his brother for the first time.

Try to get the green out of them. The last batch was, uh, interesting.
