View Full Version : Just not right
I'm sitting here doing my billing and these numbers are harder to see on this print out. So I took my glasses off and tried a pair of reading glasses and that really didn't work good because I couldn't switch from the computer to the print out.
So I put my glasses on and than put the reading glasses on the end of nose and guess what, it worked perfect.
That just ain't right.

I otter have bi-focals too Chad....But my ego says I'm still too young for them!
I'm thinking that in the meantime I will look at wearing my contacts and when I need small work wear a pair of reading glasses.

Chad, I've been putting either reading glasses or my flip up magnifying lenses (the ones I use for fly tying) over my glasses for ages. Keeps me from getting a sore neck using this tri-focals!
Well my expirment with contacts and reading glasses worked. I tried some on at the store last night. 1.25 works perfect, I can read the smallest print on the smallest medacine bottle.
I didn't buy none last night because we had to get to the ball game and all they had there were ugly pairs of glasses. I will go later today and get a pair.
The only question mark is how will the reading glasses work with the computer screen. Will I have to change my 1280 reseloution or will the glasses work on that and still allow me to do other work? I don't know yet till I get a pair.
BTW the only reason I quit wearing contacts was due to the fact that I couldn't read as well with my contacts.

Why is my wife laughing at me for wearing reading glasses? I told her that I would remember that when her eyes abandon her.

Get the transition lenses. You can't tell they are bifocals.

You wont have any probs with the computer screen Chad... Ive worn or meant to have worn glasses for must be near on 35 years now... but I tended not to kinda the old ego would kick in you know? then as my eyes got worse I started wearing them all the time... then I lost 3 pairs of prescription glasses down the hole and at 500 a pair I went to wearing those magnifying glasses... 1.5... 2... 2.5... 3... 3.5... 4 till it got so I had constant headaches eyeaches and blurred vision... couldnt read the speedo while driving and couldnt read a street sign night vision was almost non existant... hell I thought I was going blind!!!
Anyway I went and got them checked out... back to wearing glasses!
Actually it was AMAZING the difference... when I went in I couldnt read a damned letter on the chart thing... when I walked out I could read EVERYTHING!! down to the smallest letter and the number right at the bottom!! AND bonus of all I could actually see the numbers on the speedo!! No more tickets for speeding or going to slow YESSS!!!
Seriously... I got the bifocals... I just like them hoons of course think I look ancient sorta like Gareth ;) but as Im now at an age where ego is a forgotten thing in my memory I dont care!! I CAN SEE!!! Heck everything is so chrystal clear its total revelation Im serious here!! After so long with blurred vision to see something clear is increadible
A funny thing though... and Id advise you NOT to do this... when I picked them up and came home wearing them Jo met me at the door all smiles and reckoned they "suit you darling" to which I stared at her looked closer at her face ran my fingers over it and said "WOW!! youve got some increadible patterns in those lines honey"... yep one of those moments when I knew that I really REALLY shouldnt have opened my mouth :o so Id advise you that when you do finally get the proper glasses you DONT do that... it has a tendency to hurt you know?
Anyway get the magnifying ones by all means but get proper bifocals mate! You WILL be glad you did!... I got two pairs one for everyday use and the other for work actually prefer the work ones they seem to fit my face better and I can happily lean over while doing something and they actually stay put!! but best of all
I CAN SEE!!! great feeling that one I can tell you!

I just increase my font size on the computer if I can't read it easily.
