finally her swimmin day has come again!!!! she is a 1939 26' sea bird yawl that i have been working on for almost exactly one year now and come monday she is going to be launched in portsmouth new hampshire. for anyone in the area that is interested shes going in at pierce island at around 10-1030 then heading over the prescott park docks for a short blessing ceremony then a few nights so she can take up a bit. thanks to everyone on here who has helped me out with any questions i have posted during the work or anyone who has been interested. any questions feel free to write me..id love to see anyone who could make it out. cheers -joel :)

I have always liked the Seabird Yawl.
Might make it the last model i build.

Nice job Joel and good luck on launch day. I hope all goes smoothly.

Earlier (many years earlier, as a teen), the Seabird Yawl plans published in Popular Mechanics (or was it Popular Science?) captivated me completely.

Some Boat! And a fine-looking job you did, too!

You've been pretty busy, it would seem.

Congratulations and good luck with the launch. The boat looks great. I remember the last pics you posted and you had a looooong way to go.

thanks for the positive comments fellas. im excited and slightly stressed at the same time.. but hey this is supposed to be fun right?!? worse case..she sinks. hah OK no worries.. now back to that "to do" list!!

Wondering how your launching went and if you have any pointers. I'm going to launch a '57 23' Centerboard sloop on Saturday. How many people helped out? How did you raise your mast?
