...before school goes back in!
Leaving today for Pender (and?.....). Have to be back Saturday for 'girl', but we're supposed to have some beautiful weather for the next few days. Looking forward to some good sailing (wind?) and a couple of nights on the hook. On the hook, especially.....
Will take some pics.
DnD
p.s. the plan is to head to Bedwell and anchor out (and we all know how sailing plans are set in jello!). If any of you are out and about we'd love to say hello.

I used to wash the channel markers in the canal between the Penders when I was with the CG Aux. - I love that place... Enjoy it!

We spent a really nice evening out although the trip over and back was notable most for the lack of wind. We anchored off Poet's Cove, the resort at Bedwell Harbour. It's much different than the place we used to come to six or seven years ago but it's still boater-friendly.

Jeff from Port Townsend sailed in at the end of the day to join us.
Nice to see wooden boats flocking(?) together. His is a beautifully
kept 1950's Danish Folkboat. And his tender is an Oughtred "Acorn"...
Jeff, sorry we had to go so soon...

Beauty!
The old "Bedwell Resort" sure does look different! I knew the development was going in, but hadn't seen it.
Also spent some time commercial fishing off the bluffs just outside the harbour (when it was still legal to do so). Had a seal pop up between the pigs and it picked off several fish over the course of an hour or so. One is allowed - two's crossing the line. Seeing as I had a 10 lb bag of potatoes and only two days left in the opening, I took to target practice.
The seal was only bruised, and no doubt a bit PO'd. but I did get a coupe of nice spring just outside the harbour that day :)
Thanks for the pics - gotta get back there one day.

Brian - Thanks! The shot was just at sunset and the light, the harbour and (of course) the boat came together well...
Rob - The new resort looks pretty nice but the harbour is still the same. A bit rolly when we were there...and there are A LOT of new morring buoys from the marine park. It escapes me why people go for a mooring rather than anchor.
Folks are still fishing off the bluffs though and your friends the seals are in great abundance. We also saw a sea lion (or the biggest, ugliest seal I've ever seen) just outside the entrance in the tide rip. The Dahl porpoises are around too...
