Two square riggers, the Lady Washington and the Hawaiian Chieftain were here in Bellingham Bay this last weekend, taking passengers out on rides and having a mock battle, manouvering and firing their cannons. Woo-woo! The eighteenth century come alive. . .broadsides on Bellingham Bay!
The schooner Wingding came along with Rowan on Saturday out to watch all the action and to smell the powder smoke!
Enjoy the pictures!

Beautiful shots, James. Oh and the photos weren't bad either. Iain sure draws pretty boats. Makes me want to start on mine.
You ought to get some sailor/pirate duds, I think we could fit a swivel gunne on Rowan somewhere. John

I think a swivel gun could come in mighty handy were I to venture out again on to one of those inland lakes that are afflicted with the plague of jetskis. Perhaps a whiff of grapeshot would larn 'em some respect!

James, don't miss the lug sail article in the latest issue of Small Craft Advisor. You will like it. Do you subscribe to it? It's published in your neighborhood. Thanks for the nice pictures of Rowan sailing. I'm still working on Xena's Shaw & Teeney mizzen. Hope to finish it before they kick me off the Crazybird site for slooping around.

We've had a few great times blasting both named vessels, but we have to find different targets on this coast. We have been doing fine blasting Pride of Baltimore II on behalf of our pirate allies, Lynx as they are away in Hawaii
